Frequently Asked Questions

You certainly could, but we highly recommend that you have us measure and install them for you.

If the window treatments do not fit properly based on your measurements or are improperly installed, you would be stuck with the liability. In other words, you would have to pay for the replacement product and any labor costs to replace them.

If we measure your windows and they do not fit, we would replace the product at no additional cost to you. If we install your window treatments and they fail due to our faulty installation, we will do whatever it takes to correct it at no additional cost to you. See our warranty.

Yes. While there are common window sizes, there isn’t really a such thing as a “standard” window. Window jamb openings are rarely the exact same size even if the windows throughout your home are the same. This is due to settling, shifting, finish workmanship, etc. To ensure an accurate fit, every window opening needs to be measured. As the old saying goes, “measure twice, cut once.”

The cost of a window covering project rely on several factors such as: window opening size, quantity of windows, selected product cost (including surcharges for options and add-ons), etc. Typically, you can expect to spend around $1,000 and up for a whole-home project depending on the size of your home and number of windows being covered. Contact us and we will provide a comprehensive quote with the products you selected, and include the cost of installation, shipping, and tax.

Yes. The most common payment term is half upfront and half on completion, but we also offer a 3-month term for any projects less than $2,500 and 6-month term for projects $2,500 and up.

Time. Alden Shade Company does not charge for in-home or virtual consultations. All we need is for you to contact us and reserve about an hour of your time for us to assess your window covering needs and provide you with a quote.

Custom window treatments are not only sized to fit your windows, but are made with significantly higher quality construction, materials, and parts than any off-the-shelf product from a retail store. If you want stylish window treatments that will last, you won’t regret the cost.
